Research methodology

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

  • Describe at least two theoretical frameworks you might choose for your research problem and why.
  • How will your choice(s) of theoretical frameworks affect the manner in which you conduct your research?

Exam Anaylsis of a film

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

This writing project will entail taking one of two approaches in your examination and analysis of one of the following films: Singin’ in the Rain, The Searchers, and The Hurt Locker.

Following Threads

Meaning in a visual medium like cinema is created through the repetition and reoccurrence of certain images, shots, and cinematic techniques over the course of a film’s runtime. What images, gestures, actions by characters, items, and shots occur again and again throughout a particular film? What occurs in the shots where these repeating things occur? What pattern is established by these occurrences? What does this repeating pattern come to represent or signify?

Fulfilling Arcs

In film, a character arc follows how a specific character grows, changes, evolves, or learns over the course of the film’s narrative. How does a specific character (major or minor) grow and change over the course of a film? What does his or her change and growth come to represent and signify?

Construction management – managing organizations

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Scenario:

The construction consultants with whom you are employed have been retained by a Chinese Construction Company (CCC) wishing to enter the UK construction market and undertake very large projects. This they intend to do by buying a large UK based construction company with a strong brand, reputation and healthy order book.

CCC are keen to ensure that traditional Chinese culture, business practices and ethics are embedded and reflected within the new organisation, China Construction UK’s, (CCUK) head-office. CCC envisage bringing in their own senior management to run CCUK, replacing the existing senior management.

Managing Organisations (c.2000 words):

With reference to academic theory critically review the change management and conflict management processes that will be required to integrate the Chinese and British business cultures and working practices in CCUK.

Reflect the broad ranging opportunities for learning, you are able to use a variety of scenarios / events in order to explore the learning which has taken place

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

An introduction contain brief about my scenario ,definition of reflection ,why it is important ,the reflective model chosen and why it has chosen and the stages of the reflective model which will demonstrate each scenario according to it.

add supportive evidence (citation ,reference ).

-Demonstrate each scenario according to the reflective model stages.

BAE Automated Baggage Handling System

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

The research paper is required to identify a single major issue described in the case study, and key management decisions made by the BAE project manager. Additional research paper requirements must include the following elements: identify the major influences and the circumstances surrounding the major issue selected in the case study, identify the information available to the BAE project manager, identify the major decisions made by the DIA project management team, and in so far as it can be reconstructed, identify and describe the consequences of those decisions. All of which must be associated with the major issue identified. The majority of this paper should be devoted to your detailed analysis of the case as it relates to the issue selected based on class discussion, outside research, and the text. Finally, include your action plan (required) as if you were the BAE project manager.

Research methodology

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

According to Easterby-Smith (2012), epistemology is a ‘general set of assumptions about the best ways of inquiring into the nature of the world’ (Easterby-Smith, et al., 2012, p.17). Epistemology addresses questions such as:

  • What is knowledge?
  • How is knowledge acquired?
  • How do we know what we know?
  • Is it possible to have knowledge at all?

In research, an epistemological stance will influence how you choose a research topic as well as the methodology and methods you use. Review the resources this week to explore the role of epistemology in research.

  • In what ways does the choice of an epistemological perspective or stance influence the formulation of a management research problem?

Math

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Case Assignment

Problems need to include all required steps and answer(s) for full credit. All answers need to be reduced to lowest terms where possible.

Answer the following problems showing your work and explaining (or analyzing) your results.

  1. In a poll, respondents were asked if they have traveled to Europe. 68 respondents indicated that they have traveled to Europe and 124 respondents said that they have not traveled to Europe. If one of these respondents is randomly selected, what is the probability of getting someone who has traveled to Europe?
  2. The data set represents the income levels of the members of a golf club. Find the probability that a randomly selected member earns at least $100,000.

INCOME (in thousands of dollars)

98 102 83 140 201 96 74 109 163 210

81 104 134 158 128 107 87 79 91 121

  1. A poll was taken to determine the birthplace of a class of college students. Below is a chart of the results.
  2. What is the probability that a female student was born in Orlando?
  3. What is the probability that a male student was born in Miami?
  4. What is the probability that a student was born in Jacksonville?

Gender Number of students Location of birth

Male 10 Jacksonville

Female 16 Jacksonville

Male 5 Orlando

Female 12 Orlando

Male 7 Miami

Female 9 Miami

  1. Of the 538 people who had an annual check-up at a doctor’s office, 215 had high blood pressure. Estimate the probability that the next person who has a check-up will have high blood pressure.
  2. Find the probability of correctly answering the first 4 questions on a multiple choice test using random guessing. Each question has 3 possible answers.
  3. Explain the difference between independent and dependent events.
  4. Provide an example of experimental probability and explain why it is considered experimental.
  5. The measure of how likely an event will occur is probability. Match the following probability with one of the statements. There is only one answer per statement.

0 0.25 0.60 1

  1. This event is certain and will happen every time.
  2. This event will happen more often than not.
  3. This event will never happen.
  4. This event is likely and will occur occasionally.
  5. Flip a coin 25 times and keep track of the results. What is the experimental probability of landing on tails? What is the theoretical probability of landing on heads or tails?
  6. A color candy was chosen randomly out of a bag. Below are the results:

Color Probability

Blue 0.30

Red 0.10

Green 0.15

Yellow 0.20

Orange ???

  1. What is the probability of choosing a yellow candy?
  2. What is the probability that the candy is blue, red, or green?
  3. What is the probability of choosing an orange candy?

Organizational Stressors: An Annotated Bibliography

Paper, Order, or Assignment Requirements

Select three peer-reviewed scholarly articles, with each article addressing a different source of organizational stress. In your evaluation of each article, consider the following:

Reliability (evaluation of research methods used, theories used, and data on which it is based)

Appropriateness for the intended audience

Background and authority of the author

Limitations of the research (which can depend on the scope, reliability, age of the document, and bias)

Significance of the research

Submit an annotated bibliography for the three resources. For each article, be sure to include the following:

A full APA-style bibliographic reference including the author, title, publisher, and place of publication

A summary of the document including the main points, its purpose, the theoretical perspective on which it is based, and the scope
