Describe the difference between spoken and written modes in form and function.

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

Speaking and writing are two different methods of communication which today’s society cannot be without. The mode a person chooses to communicate with depends on a number of things such as the situation, the person giving the information and the person receiving it. Speech is an impermanent method of communication as it cannot be recalled due to memory problems, therefore, it is less suitable for long and complex messages. It is a instantaneous and interactive method of a communication which is why it is a useful way of communicating emotions as well as the best method for conversation….
However, speaking from personal experience, I do have to add that the only time I talk on an instant messaging service is when the person who I am trying to contact is engaged on their phone line! It is the same with text messages; if they have there phone turned off, I text them so I know that as soon as they turn it on they will receive a message from me telling them what I needed them to know! My personal favourite method of communication is speech; there is nothing better than a good conversation

The date was December 1915; Britain was in its first world war against Germany.

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirement

The date was December 1915; Britain was in its first world war against Germany. Neither side had made any real progress toward victory, although hundreds of attacks had taken place either side and thousands of troops had been killed. The British were questioning how well their army was being run, so on the 10th December 1915 Field Marshall Haig was chosen as the new leader. He was 54 years old and had a long and successful military career; he had been a celebrated cavalry commander in the Boer War fifteen years earlier. This was not an easy job to take…
the linear attack. Also, Haig could not have anticipated the survival of the Germans after the British attack and could not have known how well dugout the German trenches would be. Any commander could have made the same mistake. In conclusion, Sir Douglas Haig proved himself to be a poor leader of the British Army and indeed deserves most of the criticism he received, yet some of his decisions can be understood to a certain extent when considered from his perspective. A balanced view needs to be taken of Haig’s leadership, as some situations could not have been avoided.

Why were British troops sent to Northern Ireland in August 1969?

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

In 1969 the British Government sent British troops into Northern Ireland. The arrival of the British army in Northern Ireland was due to the increasing disturbances throughout Northern Ireland between the Catholics and Protestants. Another occurrence of disturbance throughout Northern Ireland was the Burntollet Bridge march in January 1969. The march was again about the unfair allocation of council housing. Protesters also marched for equal employment and an end to extra votes for wealthier citizens. Protesters were attacked by a Loyalist mob. On television cameras, B-specials were seen to be amongst the mob and this portrayed the RUC to…
restore order.

Many Catholics originally welcomed Terence O’Neil’s talk of a better deal for Catholics but his reforms were too slow in coming and some Catholics became impatient and frustrated. So, in 1967 a group of Catholics got together and set up a Civil Rights Association. This organisation demanded intermediate reform in the way Northern Ireland was run. From October 1968, they organised a series of protest marches and demonstrations in the hope of speeding up the reforms. But fighting broke out between Catholics and Protestants. So these marches ended in violence and bloodshed between Catholics and Protestants.

The Cosmological Argument.

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

The Cosmological Argument tries to prove the existence of God from the existence of the cosmos. The argument works by looking at the laws of the cosmos, determining what the laws are and then looking for something more powerful than the laws that put the laws in place. The argument is a ‘a posteriori’ argument which means after the facts. The argument is also synthetic because it looks beyond pure definition and relies on evidence to prove it’s value. The argument is also said to be inductive because it draws on information away from the definition…
actually proves the existence of a theistic God, because one cannot actually prove that the causer is our theistic God and not an ‘other’ or ‘others’.

The argument can only be subjective because we have no evidence of laws outside the cosmos. Both the arguments strengths and weaknesses rely on scientific knowledge so a waverer may find it difficult to determine which evidence is more reliable to believe. The weaknesses in the argument are effective to an extent but one has to consider whether one overall cause or many causes effect the ability to convince a non-believer.

Establishment of Mortgage in Transition Economy.

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

As we know, the acquirement of real estate is one of the most expensive goods. Its purchase, in fact, cannot be made by means of current incomes or accumulations of consumers. In new economic conditions therefore the problem of maintenance of the population with house cannot be solved without application of mechanism of long-term crediting. Most precisely constructed and fulfilled system of such a credit now is considered mortgage market. Mortgage lending enables to establish a long-term capital market, and solve housing problem that is very crucial in almost all transition countries. After corporate issues, mortgages are the most…
place. Second, there needs to be source of funds from either deposit or through subsidies. There is no lack of deposit sources in transition economies but the institutional developments must make mortgage holding as attractive as government securities. Finally, macroeconomic stability is required to encourage the use of long-term instruments. At instability of the financial markets the degree of risk raise in the process of increase in long-term operations. Therefore, not having reached macroeconomic stability it is difficult to develop the long-term financial markets as all financial organizations and institutions are engaged in short-term operations trying to avoid risk.

Transitions to Agriculture.

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

Transitions to Agriculture The transition in the common mode of subsistence, from hunter-gatherer to agriculture, marks an important stage in the development of mankind. During the time of this transition, humans experienced an increase in their social, political, and technological complexity. A number of varying hypotheses have been put forward to explain the causes of agriculture’s origin, as well as its effect upon the human population. However, due to the lack of definitive data in much of the archaeological record, it is often difficult to discern the validity of theories suggested to explain either events leading up to, or the…
the need of shifting cultivators to find suitable land in the face of growing shortages and competition as well as to keep population pressure down Smith 1976:61-62.

The transition to agriculture represents an important phase in the development of the human population. Food production has resulted in many advances, changes, and adaptations in the evolution of human society. There are several theories that have been proposed to explain the reasons for the origin of domestication, however due to the gaps in the archaeological record, it is impossible at this time to definitively determine which of these hypotheses is correct. urism has become one of the most appreciated source of income for many countries of the world. Tourism is the fastest growing industry in this world because it is a very good of earning foreign currency. Tourism has many advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of tourism include firstly that it provides direct employment for the people associated with occupations in bars, hotels, tour guides. This way the average standard of living of people increases well enough and leads to further lowering of dependency ratio. If there is high employment in a country then the country can concentrate on other aims…
Lastly, much of the profit goes overseas from multinationals as they send their profits to their original country. The government can do nothing except for close down or ban these multi nationals which may reduce the investment levels in the country and therefore the country may suffer a lot. We can conclude by saying that even though tourism carries a lot of disadvantages with its development, countries especially those in the process of development continue to depend on this industry because this industry does not require a lot of literacy and also it yields maximum profits with less investment

How Global issues affect Local Business Members of the judging panel, ladies and gentlemen, fellow students. I am here today to talk to you about the effects of global issues on local business, but to answer this I believe another question must first be answered. What is a global issue and a local business? The Court of Appeal in London and Blenheim Estates Ltd. V. Ladbroke Retail Parkers Ltd.

Paper , Order, or Assignment Requirements

“As a result of the decision of the court of appeal in London and Blenheim Estates Ltd. V. Ladbroke Retail Parkers Ltd. , I am not so sure that the substitution, or abandoning of the doctrine of notice achieves a just result.” There are three kinds of notice: Actual, Constructive and Imputed. By the doctrine of constructive notice equity adopted a more similar principle and adapted itself to the ordinary conveyancing practice. A purchaser would be able to plead absence of notice only if he had made all usual and proper inquiries, and had still found nothing to indicate the…
Lloyd’s Bank Plc v. Rossett Mustill LJ made the remark that, even if constructive notice no longer strictly applies to in the field of registered title, ‘the old law still gives a flavour to the new words of?óÔé¼?ªsection701.’ Purchas LJ in the same case stated that s.701g was ‘intended to import into the law relating to registered land the equitable concept of constructive notice.’ What s.701g mainly says must be that only those whose presence on the land can be easily traced and who when asked, will ‘respond meaningfully to an enquiry’, will be deemed to be in ‘actual occupation’.
